Job Description:

Senior Mechanical Project Design Engineer required to work on packaged fluid handling systems for the fluid handling sector.

The company designs, manufactures, installs & commissions fluid handling and safe access systems for the bulk transport & logistics of liquids and gases.

This role would suit a mechanical design engineer from a packaged equipment, skid manufacturing background.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • First class ability to read & produce P&ID’s, Technical Drawings, GA’s, Assembly Drawings & Fabrication Drawings.
  • Advanced operator of Solidworks & AutoCAD software packages in the preparation of the above.
  • Knowledge of piping & fabrication standards, ASME B31.3 & BS EN 1090
  • System Design of fluid handling systems considering clients specifications & functional requirements
  • Selection of valves & components… to adhere to the clients specifications & functional requirements
  • Produce BoM’s & manage the procurement of materials in execution of the project
  • Manage subcontractors / suppliers of outsourced items in execution of the project.
  • Work closely with shop floor fabrication & mechanical assembly teams.
  • Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Co-ordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Control expenditures within limitation of project budget.
  • Support the sales team with costings & technical design proposals.

 

Education Requirements: List specific examples, denoting (R) if required or (P) if preferred

  • 5 GCSES Grades A to C (Maths / English essential) (R)
  • HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (R)

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience: List specific examples, denoting (R) if required or (P) if preferred years

  • 5 Years Experience in a similar design project engineering role (R)
  • Knowledge of the designing Steel Structures / Piping Standards / Petrochemical industry / Machinery Directive (P)
  • Sound knowledge of IT (including Engineering Solidworks & AutoCAD) (R)
  • Training certificates for Solidworks, 2D CAD software (P)
  • Project Management Foundation (P)
  • Safety Passport CCNSG / IOSH Working Safely (P)

  • Reviews designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

  • Highly experienced and motivated welder required with previous coded experience in the following materials and processes
    • Stainless steel 304l and 316l TIG
    • Carbon steel TIG and MMA
    • Structural Steel MIG and oxy fuel cutting
  • Able to fit and fabricate own spools
  • Manual handling capability
  • Ability to work on their own and also part of a group
  • Site work may be required

We’re Growing Again and Are Looking for a Service Engineer to Join Us

We are looking to appoint a Service Engineer to help us serve our growing client base and fulfil recently secured contracts. This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding company with a broad and diverse product portfolio. The successful applicant must be comfortable with extensive travel throughout the UK.

 

Duties will include;

Providing site service and maintenance at petrochemical sites throughout the UK, predominantly on flow control equipment including; valves, pumps, flowmeters, solenoids, instrumentation and filters

Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance as well as function testing, pressure testing and calibration

Completing site documentation including permit requests, method statements & risk assessments

Compiling written reports for customers

 

The successful applicant will have;

5 Years’ experience as a Service Engineer in industrial environment

Appropriate engineering qualification – minimum of advanced apprenticeship, preferably to HNC level

UK driving licence

 

Desirable skills are;

Experience working within a hazardous area / ATEX environment

Some electrical experience is desirable

To support our continued growth we are looking for an Mechanical Fitter / Pipe Fitter

This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding company with a broad and diverse product portfolio. The successful applicant must be comfortable with both stainless and carbon steel pipework fabrication.

Duties will include;

Cutting pipe, cleaning fittings, tacking butt welds, threading pipe and setting up weld purges for stainless.

Assembly and pressure testing of spools and final builds.

Pipe bending for OD instrument pipe and Swagelock type compression fittings.

Reading and interpreting isometric drawings.

The successful applicant will be;

Comfortable with all pipe sizes 1/4 up to 20 inch.

Willing to work within the factory and also on customer sites.

Able to work to tight deadlines.

Able to work unsupervised and also part of a group.

Experienced in using a band saw, pillar drills, grinders and hand tools.

Desirable skills are;

Min 5 years’ experience.

Driving license.

Forklift license.

Multi skilled (Mechanical background/Electrical background).
